One of my goals for this year is to blog more and to take more lifestyle photos. Therefore, I figured the best way to do this is to blog monthly about the adventures and highlights within that month. The reason I wanted to blog more is because I knew it meant I had to take more photos outside of sessions I had with clients. Doing so will challenge me as a photographer with lighting, editing, and shooting- all of which I can definitely grow in. This month highlights mostly my adorable son (which I am sure every month will), but also the trip I took to Jamaica for a destination wedding I photographed.

I was very fortunate to have been hired as a couples wedding photographer in Jamaica and I was THRILLED when my best friend decided to spontaneously book a ticket and travel with me to the beautiful Island. Our trip was so short because I wasn’t able to take off more work from my other job as a teacher, but am still grateful I even got to go! We stayed at Secret St. James in Montego Bay and the resort was absolutely beautiful! Some of my favorite things about the island and the resort were the random peacocks we saw roaming on the grounds, the delicious jerked chicken (seriously so amazing), that they drove on the opposite side of the road, and of course the people of Jamaica! Love the hospitality and warmth of their culture and who can’t help but say ‘Ya mon’ or ‘No problem mon’ when you are there. Our two night stay on the island was worth seeing the beauty and I can’t wait to go back some day!

The second part of this post are candids from around the house of my little boy- Bryden. He just began walking more independently without holding on to furniture, so he is starting to get into a lot more things than he used to, as in everything. His new fun games this month have been feeding our dog Sadie, throwing things outside of our doggy door- can’t find a pacifier? look outside the doggy door, and putting things under the couch. Some of my favorite moments are seeing him with his daddy playing/wrestling around and listening to him jabber to himself on and on. I also love those sweet moments he decides to just lay his head down against any part of my body- seriously cherish every moment. He has been a drooling monster because of the gigantic teeth he has protruding through the top of his mouth, but I can’t help but smile when I see those buck teeth and huge gap in between them. So excited to see him grow over this year.
