Pacific Northwest waterfall elopements are definitely not uncommon, and for good reason.  The northwest offers some of the most beautiful waterfalls with fairly easy access to multiple falls. Franklin Falls, in Washington, is becoming more and more popular because of this reason; with just a short mile hike and easy terrain, its the perfect ‘fix’ for those looking for a place to say I do. Some other falls in Washington state that are great for elopements or small intimate weddings are Lower Lewis River Falls and Palouse Falls. Oregon has a vast amount of falls but some of the uncommon waterfalls for elopements or weddings are Abiqua Falls, Punch Bowl Falls, Proxy Falls and Toketee Falls. Northern California has McArthur-Burney Falls and Potem Falls.

Taking it back to early April of this year, I had a beautiful BHLDN gown that I wanted to utilize and so I found some last minute vendors to help create a vision of movement and emotion with a cascading waterfall as the backdrop. The reason I wanted this gown in front of a waterfall is because it has amazing flow to it and therefore adding the breeze from the pressure of the water hitting allows for amazing movement. I wanted to capture that movement in the dress and with the hair. In addition, there is something truly elegant and romantic with someone in formal attire in the middle of nature!
